Shipping Ashes & Returns

Shipping cremation ashes can seem stressful and confusing. With ever changing laws and regulations, it’s important to know up to date information. We can help you understand.

Customers may choose to send cremation ashes to us not using the regulated methods or postage. We will still accept them and will still make any orders with ashes, no matter how they arrive.

However, we can not control what happens to them during the transit to us. Please keep in mind that sending them with the proper postage and packaging helps them not get lost in the mail.

I do recommend that you purchase postage through us or through the USPS online Click n Ship. This is just to ensure you pay the lowest price for the Express postage.

Shipping labels purchased through us can be emailed for printing or mailed to you.

As of 2026, there are no penalties or fines for accidently shipping cremation ashes in unlabeled packaging or with improper postage.

 For ALL shipments, the purchaser assumes the risk of loss.  

SHIPPING DETAILS
Shipping items through the mail is a risk that is assumed by the purchaser. The whole tail is not required for the majority of the items. Please review the hair requirements listed on each item for specific requirements.

Horsehair Items are shipped USPS Priority or First Class without additional insurance unless another carrier is requested by the customer.  It is the responsibility of the purchaser to inform me if additional insurance is required.

Please note that we do not process or ship orders on weekends or holidays. Signature upon delivery is not required. Please contact dcdressage@yahoo.com if you would like to add a required signature to your delivery.

ORDER MODIFICATION
If you need to make a change to your order, (shipping address, product quantity, or product), please contact us as soon as possible at dcdressage@yahoo.com so that we can make adjustments. We will make every effort to accommodate your request, however, there may be some instances where we are unable to modify your order before it ships.

LOST OR STOLEN PACKAGES
If your tracking information shows that your package was delivered, but you have not received it, please contact me at dcdressage@yahoo.com

As a small artisan business, I am not able to take responsibility and replace or refund lost/missing packages that show successful delivery to the order address.

INCORRECT OR DAMAGED ORDERS

In the unlikely event that your order is processed incorrectly or your item(s) arrived damaged, please email me as soon as possible at dcdressage@yahoo.com to let me know. Please include photos of the incorrect/damaged merchandise and packaging for our reference. For domestic orders containing incorrect/damaged items, I am typically able to partially refund or repair the order at my expense.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation policy is at the discretion of the artist and is subject to change

RETURN POLICY 

All custom horsehair items are nonrefundable. Bracelets are made to the measurements and fit that you specify, please take care to measure correctly. Donovan Designs Memorials is not responsible for shipping to and from the studio if adjustments need to be made.

All custom hand engraved jewelry items are nonrefundable.
