Every ring on this platter was carved by hand, one pass at a time, spiraling from the center out to the rim. The grooves aren’t measured or mechanical they widen, narrow, and drift the way a hand actually moves, which is what gives the surface its motion.
Gold catches along the raised ridges left standing between the cuts, while deep charcoal glaze settles into the carved channels below. Mineral speckling breaks through in places where the glaze thinned over the carved edges. The effect shifts constantly with the light and your angle to it.
Use it as a catchall for keys and jewelry, or mount it on the wall where the carving reads as relief sculpture.
